Aviation Fabricators (AvFab) recently received final Transport Canada approval for their Airline Style Seating for King Air Models 300/350. The Airline Style Seats are now approved in Canada for all King Air Models.

The value-oriented Airline Style Seating options were designed for high density applications, and are available in two models, Econo Seat and Traveler Seat. Both options also have FAA and EASA STC Approval.

The Econo Seat was the first to be engineered for durability and affordability. Weighing approximately 23 lbs., it’s a lightweight and “no maintenance” solution for those wanting to add capacity without adding unnecessary cost. The Traveler Seat builds on the quality and durability of the Econo while adding some additional features including more legroom, easier entry and exit, and improved comfort.  These features were all incorporated without an increase in weight.

The seats are also available in a “Narrow Back” version allowing installation in a later model B200/B200GT or 350 King Air, without removing the arm ledges from the sidewall.

All Airline Style Seating kits include seat belts, foam backs and bottoms (un-upholstered), track fittings, life vest, and installation instructions. Add-on options include aisle-side arm rest, headrest, and side wall/arm ledge panel for outboard armrest. The seats come with a one-year warranty.

Installation is as simple as removing the existing seats/furnishings, and then placing the high-density seating into the desired locations by locking them into the seat tracks. AvFab also offers pricing quotes on the removed seats as potential trade-ins.

AvFab Airline Style Seating Approval FINAL

AvFab received EASA approval on installation for all 100, 200, and 300 (including the 350) series King Air aft jump seat kits in April 2010. In addition, AvFab has a U.S. STC and Brazil STC for the seats.

The jump seats fold down from the side wall of the aircraft in the aft baggage compartment. The seats are interchangeable with the OEM jump seat and can utilize the existing OEM installation hardware if the aircraft is so equipped. If the aircraft has not been previously equipped with an installation kit, the AvFab kit can be used to make the installation.

The kit includes all installation hardware, brackets, parts, the seat   (un-upholstered), complete restraint system, life vest, overhead lights, vents, oxygen drop-downs, and installation instructions. AvFab generally has kits in stock and available for immediate world-wide shipment.

The new window shades will give the aircraft a more upgraded and contemporary look compared to thetraditional Polarized windows.  The shades come in various colors to match the interior.

“These window shades will not only modernize the look of the cabin but add value as well,” said AvFab’s GR Lowe. “Once the window shade is installed, it will have the look of a much newer aircraft.”

The shades can only be installed in aircraft that have factory Polarizers. The kit includes everything you

need for the installation, including comprehensive installation instructions. Other products are available

The new upgrade is designed to combine style with functionality and update the aircraft to the same look and feel as the newer models of King Airs. The new sidewall with integrated outboard armrest modernizes the look of the cabin and allows more usable room on the seat surface. The table features new built-in cup holders, which replace the old style “flip out” holders.
